Equal Housing Opportunity

Spiker Realty is committed to the letter and spirit of U.S. policy for the achievement of equal housing opportunity throughout the nation. We encourage and support an affirmative advertising and marketing program in which there are no barriers to obtaining housing because of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, handicap, familial status, or national origin.

Federal Fair Housing Act

The Federal Fair Housing Act (42 U.S.C. § 3601 et seq.) prohibits discrimination in the sale, rental, and financing of dwellings, and in other housing-related transactions, based on:

  • Race
  • Color
  • National origin
  • Religion
  • Sex (including gender identity and sexual orientation)
  • Familial status
  • Disability

Colorado Anti-Discrimination Act

In addition to federal protections, Colorado law (C.R.S. §§ 24-34-501 et seq.) extends fair housing protections to additional classes, including:

  • Ancestry
  • Creed
  • Marital status
  • Source of income
